BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE

It’s our goal to empower our students and community to create a brighter future. At Paideia Academies, we provide a community
that supports families in developing the whole child – body, mind, heart, spirit – to achieve success in college, career, citizenship,
and family life.

Our mission is found within our name. Paideia (py-dee-uh) is inspired from the Greek word pais, paidos: the upbringing of the whole
child. We create a solid foundation for young scholars and provide a well-rounded, educational experience that addresses the
specific needs of each child. Students are also challenged to think critically and to identify ways they want to make a difference in
the world, using their unique talents and skillsets.

K-12 Learning At Its Best

We are committed to providing a rigorous, research-based academic experience that meets the
needs of every learner. Our curriculum is designed to build strong foundational skills, foster
critical thinking, and ignite curiosity and a love of learning.

We have adopted Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Into Reading, Into Math, and Into Literature programs to support academic
achievement and growth. The Into Learning suite from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt ensures a
cohesive, standards-based educational experience that supports alignment across grade levels

Paideia Academies Curriculum

Into Reading (K-5)

Our elementary literacy instruction is rooted in the Into Reading program, which empowers
scholars to become confident readers, writers, and communicators. Aligned to the science of
reading, this program integrates phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing with engaging
content.

This curriculum provides daily opportunities to read rich literature and informational texts
as scholars develop the literacy skills and strategies needed for academic success and real-
world understanding.

Into Math (K–12)

Through the Into Math curriculum, scholars are challenged to think deeply, reason logically, and
solve problems collaboratively. This program balances conceptual understanding, procedural
fluency, and application. Scholars develop the tools necessary to tackle real-world math with
confidence.

Through hands-on activities and digital resources, scholars are supported at every
level to grow as mathematicians.

Into Literature (Grades 6–12)

In the upper grades, our English Language Arts program transitions into Literature, a
dynamic curriculum that encourages scholars to analyze complex texts, think critically, and
express themselves effectively. Through diverse literary works and purposeful writing
assignments, scholars explore themes that resonate with their experiences and perspectives. Into
Literature nurtures thoughtful readers and articulate writers, preparing them for success in high
school, college, and beyond.

TCI History

Our social studies curriculum empowers scholars to explore history, geography, civics, and
economics through inquiry, analysis, and reflection. Scholars in grades K-4 experience history
through the integration of their language arts content and curriculum. In grades 5 through 12, we
use TCI’s History Alive!—a dynamic, scholar-centered curriculum that brings history to life and
makes learning meaningful, memorable, and relevant.
History Alive! by TCI is a nationally recognized program that transforms the way scholars learn
social studies. With a focus on active learning, this curriculum goes beyond textbooks to include
role plays, simulations, debates, primary source analysis, and cooperative projects.

Science Dimensions

Science Dimensions is designed to meet the needs of today’s learners.

Through interactive investigations, labs, and multimedia resources, scholars are engaged in a hands-on science
approach. Here are some features of the Science Dimensions program:

  • Three-Dimensional Learning: Scholars build knowledge by making connections between
concepts across life, physical, Earth, and space sciences.
  • Scholar-Driven Discovery: Lessons are inquiry-based, encouraging scholars to ask
questions, design solutions, and explain real-world phenomena.
  •  Accessible for All Learners: With a focus on equity, the curriculum provides support for
diverse learning needs, including embedded scaffolds, leveled texts, and hands-on
activities that bring science to life for every scholar.
  • Digital Integration: Interactive simulations, videos, and online assessments allow scholars
    to explore concepts anytime, anywhere.
