Summer Reading keeps your Scholar’s Brain Active and Engaged

Summer reading is a simple way to engage your scholar and prevent them from losing what they learned during the school year. Continuing to read not only leads to greater retention of knowledge, but it also increases comprehension and positive self-esteem. Research has shown that students who read over the summer come back to school more prepared to be successful in the next grade level.

We recommend many literacy activities such as visiting the library, starting a family book club, and holding your scholar accountable for reading throughout the summer. Our summer reading list provides a list of books to keep your scholar’s mind engaged while preparing them for the next school year.
