Our Take on Technology
Paideia is not a “technology-centric” learning program. We value the feel of a book, paper, and pens in our hands, annotating passages with highlighters and writing in the margins of rigorous texts and the power of face-to-face discussion that make us think deeply. We hold that the feel of real math manipulatives and science tools provide stronger and deeper learning than screen-manipulatives.
We want our scholars to experience true connection and to process complex practical studies through supported intellectual coaching. Developing the whole person – body, mind, heart, spirit – requires cultivation. Our curriculum goes beyond course content with scholars engaging in open-ended dialogue to develop an inquisitive mind.
Computer Access for Scholarly Research & Subject Mastery
Each classroom is provided with a number of laptop computers for scholarly research and the creation of scholarly work. Classes are also scheduled weekly for the Study Island computer lab, which provides scholars with supplemental online learning. Scholars can take this opportunity to master math, reading, writing, science, and social studies in a fun and engaging manner. They will also have access to the Digital Learning online portal from home to continue their learning.
